Free beta

Walk into your interview ready.

For engineers with an interview coming up: a day-by-day plan built from the job description and the best free resources, plus practice that scores you.

  • Your data is never sold
  • No ads, trackers or cookies

During the beta we use Google’s free AI tier; Google may use what you send to improve its products. What that means

A typed mock interview on a phone: a three-minute behavioral round with a timer, where Meera, the AI interviewer, asks a warm-up question and follows up on the typed answer.
The free resources for one Learn block: a Wikipedia article, the official Python docs and a practice problem.

How it works

From job description to score card, in four steps

Tell PrepMango about the job once. The plan, the lessons and the practice are built around it.

  1. Tell us about the job

Paste the job description or type “SDE-2 at Acme”, and attach your resume if you like. At the default 4 hours a day, a week is about 28 hours, and the live preview shows the plan as you type.

The start screen: a backend engineer job typed into the box, and the live preview: 7 days to the interview, about 28 hours at the default 4 hours a day, with 6 lessons, 6 practice sets, 3 mock interviews and the skills spotted in the text, Kafka and PostgreSQL.
  2. Get a plan to your interview day

Each day is split into Learn, Practice, Mock interview and Review blocks with their minutes. Miss a day and the rest spreads itself again.

A 7-day plan: cards for the interview date, progress, four planned mock interviews and the focus areas, above a calendar where each day lists its lessons, practice and mock interview blocks with their minutes.
  3. Practice what the job asks

Flashcards, a resume grill and full mock interviews, all typed. Topics come from your plan, so your time goes on what this job asks.

A flashcard turned to its answer, with three buttons to rate it, Missed, Almost and Got it, each saying when the card comes back.
  4. See your score card

An overall score, a score for each part of the rubric, and what went well and what to fix, with timestamps. Compare each answer with a stronger one. Your plan updates by itself.

A score card for a coding round: 5 out of 5 overall, a bar each for approach and correctness, what went well with timestamps, and the answer given set beside a stronger one.

What’s inside

The plan, and the practice that checks it

  • Study plan

About nine in ten study blocks point to the best free material that exists: a video, an official doc or a practice set we curate. Give it 1 to 9 hours a day and the plan fits.

4 hours a day to start

  • Lessons

Our 2-minute summary and three key ideas, then a reading list with the minutes each item takes. A quick check and a line to say out loud in the interview close it.

  • Flashcards

Your rating decides when a card comes back, and the ones you miss join your plan as a short review.

    • Missed a few cards later
    • Almost later today
    • Got it in days
  • Ask the coach

Ask under any card, resume line, lesson or score card. The coach answers only from our checked lessons, and says so when they don’t cover your question.

  • Resume grill

One resume line at a time: how did you do it? Each line gets a rating and a “say it like this” template with blanks for your own numbers. We never invent them.

    • Strong
    • Shaky
    • Can’t defend
  • Quick 1-hour prep

Interview in an hour? 15 minutes of cheat sheet, 30 of rapid-fire questions, 15 of final review. What there is no time to learn well is marked “skipped on purpose”.

Mock interviews

Rehearse with Meera

Meera is your AI interviewer. A mock runs like the real thing, with rounds and a timer.

  • Pick 1 to 15 minutes: a quick warm-up or a full round
  • A question tracker, a timer and a notes panel she can see
  • Type your answers, with a code box when a round needs code
  • Hint when you are stuck, End + score when you are done

Spoken interviews are not available yet. Where you see Speak, you can dictate an answer and check the text before you send it.

A coding mock in progress: Meera, the AI interviewer, follows up on an answer and sets the next problem, and a Python answer is being written in the code box.

Privacy and security

Where your resume goes, and how long it stays

Made in India by Polsiva Private Limited, your data fiduciary under the DPDP Act, 2023. Our servers are in Mumbai.

  • Who reads your data

The one outside party that reads your text, files and answers is our AI provider, Google, to run the AI features. During the beta we use Google’s free AI tier; Google may use what you send to improve its products.

  • Files encrypted, then deleted

Encrypted before they are stored, deleted on a timer, and gone at once when you remove them.

  • Download or delete any time

From Privacy & my data. After you delete your account, everything is gone within 30 days, including backups.

  • No password to leak

Sign in with an emailed code or Google. Our admin tools cannot show your resume, answers or files.

Download your data, step 1 of 3: plans and lessons, practice and scores, activity and sign-ins, and files, in a PDF report or as JSON and CSV files.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is PrepMango free?

Yes. PrepMango is free during the beta and takes no payments: there is nothing to buy in the app or on the website. There are daily limits, for example on AI answers and how many plans you can make a week, and they can change. If paid plans come later, we will tell you in the app and by email before anything is charged. Nothing in the beta turns into a charge by itself.

What do I need to start?

Just tell us about the job. Paste a job description, type something like “SDE-2 at Acme”, or just a role. You can also attach up to 3 files, 5 MB each (PDF, Word, text or images such as screenshots), for example your resume. Then pick your interview date. You sign in with a code we email you, or with Google. There is no password.

What happens to my resume and answers?

To make your plan, lessons and feedback, we send your text, files and answers to our AI provider, Google (the Gemini API), which handles the data under its own terms, which may change. For now we use Google’s free tier, on which Google may use what is sent to improve its products, so please leave sensitive personal details out of your resume and notes; we will move to its paid tier, which does not. If you tap Speak to dictate, your audio goes to our own server, where it is turned into text, and nowhere else. We do not sell your data and we show no ads. Our privacy notice has the details.

How long do you keep my files?

Files you attach to a prep, and the text we read from them, are deleted 30 days after that prep’s interview date. Files you keep only in Resumes, with no prep, are deleted 90 days after you last used them (uploaded, or used to start a practice). Either one goes straight away when you remove it. Practice, scores and plan history are kept for 12 months. The full list is in our privacy notice.

How do I download my data or delete my account?

Both are in the app. Account menu, then Privacy & my data. Download my data lets you pick what to include and a format (a PDF report, or JSON and CSV files), confirmed with a 6-digit code we email you. Delete account (you type DELETE to confirm) signs you out everywhere, and everything is gone within 30 days, including backups, except the few small records our privacy notice lists.

Can I trust what the AI tells me?

PrepMango is a study aid, and AI can be wrong, so check important points. Facts about a company, such as its interview rounds, are shown only with a source link; if we have no verified source we say “No verified info”. Lessons that a person has not reviewed yet are marked as a draft. Scores are guidance, not a prediction of how a real interviewer will judge you.

Where is my data stored?

Our database and servers are in Mumbai, India. Some of our service providers work outside India: for example the AI that reads your job text and plays the interviewer (Google’s Gemini API) may process it outside India. Dictation (the Speak button) is turned into text on our own server in Mumbai. Our privacy notice names every provider, what it sees and where.

Who can use PrepMango, and is there a phone app?

PrepMango is for people aged 18 and over. It works in your browser today at app.prepmango.com. Apps for iPhone and Android, with the same features and the same look, are coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.
